In view of the revelations occurring surrounding the IRS targeting conservative organizations, the Executive Board of iCaucus wishes to clarify our status, filings, and website security for our members, affiliates and candidates.  We have received several questions regarding this issue as organizations are beginning to speak out concerning access that was requested to the back end of their websites and the information that may have been obtained by the Federal government.

There has been much conversation floating among grassroots Americans of treason or treasonous actions by our government at all levels. This has led to a study on what the legal definition of treason is and how it should be applied.  This article is the result of that research.   We never thought we would write something on this, but there are many things none of us thought we would have to do.

So, what is treason exactly?  To legally define this term, we must first start with what it says in the U.S. Constitution. Article 3, Subsection 3, clause 1. It states:

Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.

 March 2013, Californians in the 40th State Senate District had the opportunity of voting in a special election to fill a seat vacated by Juan Vargas due to his election to Congress in November 2012.  iCaucus members and affiliates had voted to endorse Xanthi Gionis for this special election.  At that time, there were many articles calling her and her business into question.  As a result of direct communication with Ms. Gionis, iCaucus maintained their endorsement and the members continued to work for her election in three different counties; San Diego, Imperial, and Riverside.  Unfortunately, the bad press she received appears to have resulted in her losing the election.

It is time for this to be said and we will not apologize if anyone becomes offended. It needs to be said. We hear too many people complaining about the way things are going, yet when presented with options of what can be done, they turn around and complain it is too difficult. Reality check - THE RIGHT THING IS ALWAYS HARD. We see way too many asking where the next George Washington or Ronald Reagan are, guess what? They are inside of each one of us.
